As He Lay Dying

the poor soul had suffered
a terrible fate
his limbs torn
with rotten flesh
clinging to his bones
behind his eyes
lay breeding maggots
and they gushed out of the holes
that resembled a nose
the feelings he had
as he lay dying
what he had done
and what he hadn't
must of been worse
than death itself
