I am white as a cloud in the blue sky
Floating lazily by
I am soft like a feathery thing
Freshly plucked from a bird's wing
I am rough like sand
Rubbing against your hand
I am very mundane
Nothing more than just plain
But I am very useful everyday
Cleaning up messes before they stay
And when you're through in the trash I go
So tell me now, what am I? Do you know?

Remember during our poetry unit when we had that describing game in class? Where we closed our eyes and chose something out of a basket and then had to describe it? So this was my item. Kind of late, but it's still a decent poem. Enjoy!

live, laugh, love
Laugh your heart out,
Dance in the rain,
Cherish the moment,
Ignore the pain,
Live, Laugh, Love,
Forgive and forget,
Life's to short to be
Living with regrets.

Cherish the moment,

Holy Alphabet
Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without
His love
J oy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
X alting God most high
Y es, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Z ion waits in glory...where none are ever sad!

TRY
Try
The only reason
You can't
Is because
You think you can't
Your only limitations
Are your own hesitations
But if you would try
You'd see
There is so much
You can do
I know it looks so high
Way up in this tree
But if you spread your wings
You'll find
That you can fly
so don't hold back
Don't give up
Be brave
Be strong
Go out
And try.

Messy room
Messy Room
His raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
His workbook is wedged in the window,
His sweater's been thrown on the floor.
His scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And his pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
His books are all jammed in the closet,
His vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in his bed,
And his smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Donald or Robert or Willie or
Huh? You say it's mine? Oh, dear,
I knew it looked familiar!
This bedroom is not mine!!!

weird life story
i spent the night dancing with him
the lights were dim
i loved him but i didnt know he
was gonna leave me
so i know i love him
but now i realize that i dont need him.
now im happy that he left me
i can live without a guy and just be
the only problem is that now
i love one other guy
and like another
i have problems
get over it

writing a haiku
when he woke up
he was writing
a limerick

the poem
I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh a at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need But at last the time,
the time to die I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God! Held a book;
It was the book of life
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,

Move On
Just stop thinking about him!
But, I just can't. It's so hard.
Think of someone else!
When I try to my mind just goes right back to an image of him!
You don't need him. Your better than that!
Well, I know that. Many people have told me.
There are many fish in the pond, you need to find a new one.
But I can't he was so perfect!!!!
No, he wasn't perfect nobody is.
If he isn't perfect than he's pretty darn close!
That is wrong he treated you like fly. He just butted you out all the time.
OK, you win he did do that sometimes.
Thank you! Finally, you deserve better than that mutt!!!
Let's not get carried away! Feelings are hard to destroy.....
And that was the last of her liking him.............................................for now!

he made me go emo
the blood dripping down my arm
from my wrist
walking outside in the cold wet mist
emo isnt just cutting yourself
its full of love
that is sent from god above
people dont see that though
they see depression
well i have a confession
we aren't always depressed
we are happy, we have joy
but with us it can only be caused by a boy
so the darkness that is inside of me
isn't who i am
its who he made me be.

What Is Depression?
What is depression?
Is it losing inspiration
The want
To do the things you love?
Is losing the want to be awake
And escape
Into the calming world of sleep?
Is it losing the warmth
The joy
Of being with friends and family?
Is it losing a purpose
A meaning
In this thing we call life?
Or is depression all of these things?

i am going insane someone save me
I swim again through past
I'm overwhelmed by pain,
Scenes are moving fastI
feel like I'm in chain.
On a cold lonesome night
My soul is stuffed with grief
Where is my saving knight?
I've lost my last belief...
I sit alone and listen
My heart is wrapped in sadness
When moon begins to glisten
My mind is filled with madness.
The vibe of pain and terror
Is driving me insane
Am I the sorrow wearer?
I wait the tear of rain...
I'm overwhelmed by pain,

Forgotten language
Forgotten Language
Once I spoke the language of the flowers,
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said,
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
And shared a conversation with the houseflyin my bed.
Once I heard and answered all the questionsof the crickets,
And joined the crying of each falling dyingflake of snow,
Once I spoke the language of the flowers. . . .
How did it go?
How did it go?

SOMBRERO
The sombrero I wear it On my head
So I don't get a heat stroke
The heat sometimes can be too much
The sombrero is nice and cool
It protects me from getting a heat stroke
The sombrero is a large Mexican hat
Made of leather with hand made designs
Lots of people think I am a local man
I tell than noI am not a local man
I am not a Mexican
I am a foreigner
The sombrero makes me look so handsome
I love to wear itI just feel like one of than

Love poem
another poem to sort of end the unit..?
><><><><><><><
Love does not falter
Love does not end
Love is like no other
Because love never bends
Love's life changes last
And it can also change you
From what you were in the past
To someone new
Love is hard to find
It's not easy to see
Yet when soulmates combine
There's no more "me" but "we"
Love is very subtle
But it's always there
Even when it seems as invisible
As a thin strand of hair
Everyone will say
That love is sent from above
And I wish that someday
I'll find my own true love
~END~

Aloneness and Lonliness
There was an island
On the island there was a boy
Stranded
He was happy
Thriving in the aloneness
Around him
His parents weren't there
To boss him around
Make him do chores
He doesn't have to wake up
Early everyday
To go to school
He doesn't have to face
The cruel thing known as
Life
Reality
He was alone
Glad to be alone.
Yet, there was
Emptyness
On the island
It was just the boy
And the trees
And the birds flying above
It was just the boy
And the sand of the beach
The waves crashing on shore
And the boy realized
And cried each night
That he was
Lonely
And afraid.
Each day
He would marvel
At his aloneness.
And each night
He would cry
Until tears ceased to come.
But tears cannot bring the boy
Back to reality
Where his family
And friends are
Where people are
Where true happiness is.
~END~

peanut butter sandwitch!
I'll sing you a poem of a silly young king
Who played with the world at the end of a string,
But he only loved one single thing
And that was just a peanut butter sandwich.
His scepter and his royal gowns,
His regal throne and golden crowns
Were brown and sticky from the mounds
And drippings from each peanut butter sandwich.
His subjects all were silly fools
For he had passed a royal rule
That all that they could learn in school
Was how to make a peanut butter sandwich.
He would not eat his sovereign steak,
He scorned his soup and kingly cake,
And told his courtly cook to bake
An extra-sticky peanut butter sandwich.
And then one day he took a bit
And started chewing with delight,
But found his mouth was stuck quite tight
From that last bite of peanut butter sandwich.
His brother pulled, his sister pried,
The wizard pushed, his mother cried,
"My boy's committed suicide
From eating his last peanut butter sandwich!"
The dentist came, and the royal doc.
The royal plumber banged and knocked,
But still those jaws stayed tightly locked.
Oh darn that sticky peanut butter sandwich!
The carpenter, he tried with pliers,
The telephone man tried with wires,
The firemen, they tried with fire,
But couldn't melt that peanut butter sandwich.
With ropes and pulleys, drills and coil,
With steam and lubricating oil
For twenty years of tears and toil
They fought that awful peanut butter sandwich.
Then all his royal subjects came.
They hooked his jaws with grapplin' chains
And pulled both ways with might and main
Against that stubborn peanut butter sandwich.
Each man and woman, girl and boy
Put down their ploughs and pots and toys
And pulled until kerack!
Oh, joy
They broke right through that peanut butter sandwhcih
A puff of dust, a screech, a squeak
The king's jaw opened with a creak.
And then in voice so faint and weak
The first words that they heard him speak
Were, "How about a peanut butter sandwich?"
Who played with the world at the end of a string,
But he only loved one single thing
And that was just a peanut butter sandwich.

Dream deferred
Dream Deferred
by Langston Hughes
What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry upLike a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?
I found this at one site where there were many information about Langston Hughes
I remember when we read about this poem and made a ( something like a poster )
I, too, sing America
I, Too, Sing America
by Langston Hughes
I, too, sing America.I am the darker brother.
They send me to eat in the kitchenI, too, sing America.I am the darker brother.
When company comes,
But I laugh,And eat well,
And grow strong.
Tomorrow,I'll be at the table
When company comes.
Nobody'll dare
Say to me,
"Eat in the kitchen,"
Then.
Besides,
They'll see how beautiful I am
And be ashamed--
I, too, am America.
The Golden years
The Golden Years
by Billy Collins
All I do these drawn-out days
is sit in my kitchen at Pheasant Ridge
where there are no pheasants to be seen
and last time I looked, no ridge.
I could drive over to Quail Falls
and spend the day there playing bridge,
but the lack of a falls and the absence of quail
would only remind me of Pheasant Ridge.
I know a widow at Fox Run
and another with a condo at Smokey Ledge.
One of them smokes, and neither can run,
so I’ll stick to the pledge I made to Midge.
Who frightened the fox and bulldozed the ledge?
I ask in my kitchen at Pheasant Ridge.

10 Things I Hate About You
I hate the way you talk to me,
and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick,
it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way youre always right,
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh
even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when youre not around,
and the fact that you didnt call.
But mostly I hate the way I dont hate you,
not even close
not even a little bit
not even at all.
Guys annoy me (B.R.)
guys are confusing
i always feel like im losing
when a guy lies about
having a girlfriend so
he can get away from you.
It dosn't always happen
but when it does he's always laughin'
why cant guys be sweet
insted of smelly like rotten meat?
Its not like in movies or fantsy books.
where the guy always cooks
a sweet romantic meal for his lovely lady.

Heh heh heh...
My friend read this poem on a website so I don't know who it's by.
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Nothing is sweeter
Than being with you.
But the roses are wilting
The violets are dead
My heart is empty
Just like your head.

Point Guard By: Arnold Adoff
You bring the ball down the court.
The pick is set.
The play is called.
The movement of the ball is faster than all the defensive hands and heads, and you get free.
You pass to into the big girl at the key.
She turns and shoots and scores.
The crowd roars.

THE FINAL CHANCE Ocean Myranda, USA
Running to the fifty yard line,
He threw it to the player who yelled, “Mine!”
The crowd roared as he caught it,
He ran faster, there was no time to sit!
Five minutes left in the fourth quarter,
He ran past the twenty-five yard line border,
He ran as fast as a jackal,
Only to be taken down by a great tackle!
They still had the ball,
According to the ref’s call,
All the players were sore,
To make matters worse, it started to pour!
Soggy, smelly players getting ready to run,
The game, still tied, is not done,
Two minutes left in this game,
The Colts’ star player came!
The crowd cheered and screamed really loud,
He came out and bowed,
Manning huddled with the team,
They were ready with their scheme!
It was the last minute in the game,
If the Colts win, they get the fame,
The game still tied, seven to seven,
Only moments away from heaven!
The last play of the day,
Keeping the others out of the way,
Using the quarterback sneak to win the crown,
Hooray! They won the game with the final touch down!
Falling up-Shel SilverStein-Jacob Carbajal
I triped on my shoelace
And I fell up
Up to the roof tops
Up past the tree tops
Up over the mountias
Up where the colors
Blend into the soundsBut it go me so dizzy
When I looked around
I got sick to my stomach
And I threw down
And I fell up
Up to the roof tops
Up past the tree tops
Up over the mountias
Up where the colors
Blend into the soundsBut it go me so dizzy
When I looked around
I got sick to my stomach
And I threw down
Warning
Bat your eyes together
be otherworldly
count your blessings
seduce a stranger
whats so wrong with being happy?
kudos to those who see through sickness
she woke in the morning
she knew that her life had passed her by
she called out a warning
don't ever let life pass you by
I suggest we
learn to love ourselves,
before its made illegal
when will we learn, when will we change
just in time to see it all come down
Those left standing will make millions
writing books on the way it should have been
she woke in the morning
she knew that her life had passed her by
she called out a warning
don't ever let life pass you by
she knew that her life had passed her by
she called out a warning
don't ever let life pass you by
Floating in this cosmic Jacuzzi
we are like frogs oblivious
soon the water starting to boil,
now I flinched and we all float face down
she woke in the morning
she knew that her life had passed her by
she called out a warning
don't ever let life pass you by
she knew that her life had passed her by
she called out a warning
don't ever let life pass you by
Pass you by.
-Brandon Boyd
???
Hard to breathe,
feels like floating.
So full of love,
My heart's exploding.
Mouth is dry, hands are shaking,
my heart is yours for the taking.
Acting weird, not myself,
dancing around like the keibler Elf.
Finally time for this poor "schlub"
to know how it feels to fall in love.
(and yes this is from a movie)
snowwwwww is falling******
Snow is falling
From the sky above
Snow is falling
Put on scarf and glove
Snow is falling
Go look outside
Snow is falling
The old landscape it hide
Snow is falling
What a beautiful sight
Snow is falling
It sparkles in the light
Snow is falling
Soft cotton wool flakes
Snow is falling
A white blanket it makes
Snow is falling
Short flowers disappear
Snow is falling
The cold is here
Snow is falling
Its time to play
Snow is falling
Lets make snowmen today :)

snow
there is snow on the ground
many snowballs that are round
hills are slippery and wet
all dogs should not be pet
because they are muddy
specially my neighboor buddy.

The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Unhuman Creation
Delve into a stolen heart
mind and soul torn apart
look for the hole that lays between
look for what has gone unseen
look for deaths red rose
drink upon the blood that flows
allow it to come inside
and in you it shall confide
it will cloak your heart in silver lead
and from your lifestream it is fed
it pounds upon your brain like rain
and starts its own metallic reign
on the outside you may be flesh
but inside you're copper mesh
life remains a solid mocker
for you've become a silver stalker

Sad Silver
Silver is lead,magnets,glitter
It sounds like water wind, wind whistling
It smells like rain poring down from the sky
Silver is cold like winters morning
It makes you feel cold ,bored, lonely
It taste like an old piece of gum
Old silverware that is worn out
Silver is like japans sulfur volcano, freezing cold
It taste like sulfur, old and horrible
Its hard,sicking, sorrow like
Silver is sad
But it can be different if you think
Its a time to change
Start all over do better
Silver can be the start of something new
cooper
I have a fish named Cooper
He really is a trooper
But when i am gone
The party is on
what will I do with Cooper?
Times
There are times of weakness
When everything seems to tower over you
There are times of darkness
When no light seems to get through
And there are times of hopelessness
When everything’s falling flat
And there are times of sadness
Where everything’s just that
There are times of strength
Where nothing gets in your way
And there are times of light
When the skies are blue each day
And there are times of hope
When your wish comes true
And there are times of joy
When everything’s about you
~End~
I hope you liked it!

Messy Room by Shel Silverstein
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
His underwear is hanging on the lamp.
Donald or Robert or Willie or--
Huh? You say it's mine? Oh, dear,
I knew it looked familiar!

White
The emptyness of nothing
clouds soaring high
As clean as a white t-shirt should be
teeth being washed
Lonely with nothing to do
A polar bear walking in the snow
standing still
Foot prints that are not there
The stripes on the flag
computer paper filled with blankness
The pages in a book that has no words
white is the soothing smell that seems to never smell
winter waiting to happen
Brand new shoes
Dead with no color
Rides on top of vanilla
tip of a feather with no sign of ink
The back ground if most clocks
Playing on the top of your socks
The color with no color
clouds soaring high
As clean as a white t-shirt should be
teeth being washed

A Rainy Day in April,
When the clouds shake their hyssops, and the rain
Like holy water falls upon the plain,
'Tis sweet to gaze upon the springing grain
And see your harvest born.
And sweet the little breeze of melody
The blackbord puffs upon teh budding tree,
While the wild poppy lights upon the lea
And blazes 'mid the corn.
The skylark soars the freshening shower to hail,
And the meek daisy holds aloft her pail.
And Spring all radiant by the wayside pale
Sets up her rock and reel.
See how she weaves her mantle fold on fold,
Hemming the woods and carpeting the wold.
Her warp is of the green, her woof the gold,
The spinning world her wheel.

alone
silent day
dark day
loneliness awaits
at the other end
i feel as if i should just leave
this world and all its inhabitants
and be alone
though i don't want to be!!!!!!
but i want to be gone at the same moment.
life......
life, people take it for granted
it is a miracle that we all live
we should charish our youth and not forget it
we can only be young for once in our life
and we should live it how we want to.
do what you want to and feel good about it
take in advice and live life now!
take things seriously!
dont make fun of people because you dislike them
or because they annoy you
we are all humans and we should be treated equal to one another!

no more favors
No more favors, please!
I'm already choked with people,
Nice people, sweetly moved,
Expecting themselves in the mirror.
Time to look at your watches,
Ease yourselves into lounges,
Enjoy the quiet of taking,
No more intrusive than trees.

Its Dark In Here
I am writing these poems
From inside a lion,
And it's rather dark in here.
So please excuse the handwriting
Which may not be too clear.
But this afternoon by the lion's cage
I'm afraid I got too near.
And I'm writing these linesFrom inside a lion,
And it's rather dark in here.

Friends by Shannon Raschelle
As we walk our path of life,
We meet people everyday.
Most are simply met by chance.
But, some are sent our way.
These become special friends
Whose bond we can't explain;
The ones who understand us
And share our joy and pain.
Their love contains no boundaries.
So, even we are apart.
Their presence enhances us
With a warmth felt in the heart.
This love becomes a passageway,
When even the miles disappear.
And so, these friends, God sends our way,
Remain forever near.

Forever Friends~Emma Guest
A friend is like a flower,
a rose to be exact,
Or maybe like a brand new gate
that never comes unlatched.
A friend is like an owl,
both beautiful and wise.
Or perhaps a friend is like a ghost,
whose spirit never dies.
A friend is like a heart that goes strong until the end.
Where would we be in this world if we didn't have a friend.

and cookie crumbs.

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children,
they know
the place where the sidewalk ends.

A True Friend
A friend that is unique
A friend that is one of a kindA friend that is perfect
A type of friend who is hard to find
A friend that is sweet
A friend that is perpetually fair
A friend that you know
Will always be there
A friend with an amazing spirit
A friend with a striking heart
A friend that is trustworthy
A friend that is smart
A friend that assuages your pain
A friend that can dry your tears
A friend with unrestricted love
A friend that can alleviate your fears
A friend with an exquisite smile
That could never be ignored
A friend that’s never been hurtful
A friend that is easily adored
A friend that is respectful
A friend who is loved by all
A friend that is relied upon
A friend to never let fall
A friend you can talk to
Her compassion is known by a glistening glow
Just by sparking her remarkable light
The whole world will know
What a great and amazing person she is
A friend I shall never forget
She is the greatest ever been known
Best of all the friends I’ve ever met…

What Happened
You used to call him
Text him each day
And now you deleted his number
And threw your cell phone away
And you used to tell him
Secrets I didn't even know
And now you barely
Say to him, "Hello"
What happened that night
In the storm?
Tell me as a friend
Nothing more
What happened to the love
You once had?
Tell me as a friend
Nothing bad
I can see you suffering
Underneath that smile
And it hurts everytime
I see you try to hide it...
Did he hurt you
In anyway?
If he did
He'll never see the light of day
What happened that night
In the storm?
Tell me as a friend
Nothing more
What happened to the love
You once had?
Tell me as a friend
Nothing bad
I want to help you
Through what you've had to do
But I can't do that
If I don't even know you
So tell me what happened
In that storm
Tell me as a friend

goodbye
i wish that i could get over guys
like guys get over girls.
my heart is strong
but my stomache wants to hurl.
i am happy on the outside but
on the inside i want to cry.
every time a guy wants to say goodbye
those hurtful words never seem to go away.
all i can ever say is ok.
i wish i could think of things
to keep us together longer.
maybe even make it even stronger.
like guys get over girls.
my heart is strong
but my stomache wants to hurl.
i am happy on the outside but
on the inside i want to cry.
every time a guy wants to say goodbye
those hurtful words never seem to go away.

He Knows
He knows that you look,
He knows that you took.
He knows that you love him,
He knows that you can't have em.
He knows that you stare,
He knows that you dare.
He knows everything,
So why can't you stop loving.
He knows that you took.
He knows that you love him,
He knows that you can't have em.
He knows that you stare,
He knows that you dare.
He knows everything,
So why can't you stop loving.
1 inch Tall
If you were only one inch tall, you'd ride a worm to school.
The teardrop of a crying ant would be your swimming pool.
A crumb of cake would be a feastAnd last you seven days at least,
A flea would be a frightening beastIf you were one inch tall.
If you were only one inch tall, you'd walk beneath the door,
And it would take about a month to get down to the store.
A bit of fluff would be your bed,You'd swing upon a spider's thread,
And wear a thimble on your headIf you were one inch tall.
You'd surf across the kitchen sink upon a stick of gum.
You couldn't hug your mama, you'd just have to hug her thumb.
You'd run from people's feet in fright,To move a pen would take all night,
(This poem took fourteen years to write--'Cause I'm just one inch tall).

he was the best friend you could have
loyal, truthful, and he always had my back
he was the coolest person i knew
we had been friends since kindergarten
he was at this high school party
someone pulled out a gun and he
was on the receiving end
of a bullet in the head
it doesn't matter who shot him
i'm just glad that he's alive
he's not walking yet but he's coming along
loyal, truthful, and he always had my back
he was the coolest person i knew
we had been friends since kindergarten
he was at this high school party
someone pulled out a gun and he

of a bullet in the head

He Knows
We know him as
death
no other name
he moves us around
as he wishes
and then
he knocks us out
of the game
like pawns
on a chess board
as long as God has
given us life
he has been there
to take it away
he comes in swiftly
squeezing out your last
breath
and departs
with your soul
it doesn't matter
where you go
he will find you
who knows
You may be NEXT
death
no other name
he moves us around
as he wishes
and then
he knocks us out
of the game
like pawns
on a chess board
as long as God has
given us life
he has been there
to take it away
he comes in swiftly
squeezing out your last
breath
and departs
with your soul
it doesn't matter
where you go
he will find you
who knows
You may be NEXT
Broken Beyond Repair
Oh and this is my alliteration poem, cause otherwise it wouldnt have any in it!
Death Dwells Deep
Disabling the ability
to sleep
to care
Destroying down under
what matters the most
Pleasure gone
nothing left to Placate
that growing sense
of Panic
Periodically Peering at
you
Insecurity Intensified
Initiating
the darkside of your
Intellect
and encouraging
Insanity

I wish he was around
so he could be so proud of his son
not just his son his only son
and his first born child
but he's never even came to see me
since we moved down here
he never calls
what a great dad he is
you don't know how lucky you are
what i would give to
hear i'm proud of you son just one time
yo don't know how lucky you are
to even have a
dad who cares

Tell me who can
Catch a toucan?

Just how few can
Ride the toucan?
Two can.
What kind of goo can
Stick you to the toucan?

He only takes the best
God saw you getting tired,
and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you,
and whispered "come to me"
With tearful eyes
we watched you, and saw
you pass away.
although we loved you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our heart to prove to us,
he only takes the best.

The Beautiful Game (soccer)
I love you more than my old soccer cleats,
The ones I’ll never give up.
I love you more than the perfect field,
The one I use to warm up.
I love you more than my soccer ball,
The one that’s perfect for amazing passes.
I love you more than me running along those different types of grasses.
I love you more than the cheering crowds,
The stands made out of plaster.
I love you more than that perfect kick,
That I have yet to master.
I love you more than my soccer cleats the ones that hold all reason.
I love you more than my coach, my soccer team and my season.
I love you more than winning that world cup,
That we have yet to reclaim.
I can’t believe I love you more than the beautiful game.

As He Lay Dying
the poor soul had suffered
a terrible fate
his limbs torn
with rotten flesh
clinging to his bones
behind his eyes
lay breeding maggots
and they gushed out of the holes
that resembled a nose
the feelings he had
as he lay dying
what he had done
and what he hadn't
must of been worse
than death itself
a terrible fate
his limbs torn
with rotten flesh

The Forgotten Tower
Red is the guilt on a field of white
she approached the staircase
shrouded in shadow
without a light
Red is the guilt on a field of white
a figure slunk behind her
whose heart had hardened
and what was left was filled with jealousy and hate
Red is the guilt on a field of white
he held her fate in his hands
so her fate sealed
she plummeted to her death
Red is the guilt on a field of white
he expected to see anger in her eyes
for her to show true terror
but as she faded away he only saw disappointment
Red is the guilt on a field of white
forever he shall remember
her disturbing face
and her slight echo as she hit the stone below
Red is the guilt on a field of white
the same haunting face appears in his dreams
night after night
staring back at him
Red is the guilt on a field of white
sleep becomes limited
until it fades away completely
and holes form under his eyes
Red is the guilt on a field of white
her face appeared without sleep
and her voice echoes in his ears
until he cried out into the night
"Spirits come no further! I shall not commit denial any longer!"
"I sealed thy fate, and my soul is condemed to hell!"
and so he flung himself out of the tower into the air
anticipating his own fate and the freeing of his mind
Red is the guilt on a field of white
I have told thee nine times
and I repeat my warning
once more

Depths
Down in the Depths
Death feeds on happiness
They thrive on depression
Embracing hate
Crowded feelings create
A dark rainbow cascading over hell
Some say I have a dark personality
but I only write the truth
Death feeds on happiness
They thrive on depression
Embracing hate
Crowded feelings create
A dark rainbow cascading over hell
Some say I have a dark personality

Me & You
Me and you,
I told that I would always,
Love you,
You are my soul mate,
And everything more,
I will always love you,
Till the end.
I told that I would always,
Love you,
You are my soul mate,
And everything more,
I will always love you,
Till the end.
The Raven
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore - While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. «Tis some visitor», I muttered, «tapping at my chamber door: Only this and nothing more».
Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor, Eagerly I wished the morrow; vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore - Nameless here for evermore.
And the silken, sad, uncertain rustling of each purple curtain Thrilled me - filled me with fantastic terrors never felt before; So that now, to still the beating of my heart, I stood repeating «Tis some visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door - Some late visitor entreating entrance at my chamber door - This it is and nothing more».
Presently my soul grew stronger: hesitating then no longer, «Sir», said I, «or Madam, truly your forgiveness I implore; But the fact is, I was napping, and so gently you came rapping. And so faintly you came tapping, tapping at my chamber door, That I scarce was sure I heard you». - Here I opened wide the door - Darkness there, and nothing more.
Deep into the darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before; Put the silence was unbroken, and the stillness gave no token, And the only world there spoken was the whispered word, «Lenore!» This I whispered, and an echo murmured back the word, «Lenore!» This, and nothing more.
Back into the chamber turning, all my soul within me burning, Soon again I heard a tapping, somewhat louder than before. «Surely», said I, «surely that is something at my window lattice; Let me see, then, what thereat is, and this mystery explore, - Let my heart be still a moment, and this mystery explore, «Tis the wind, and nothing more».
Open here I flung the shutter, when, with many a flirt and flutter, In there stepped a stately Raven of the saintly days of yore. Not the least obeisance made he, not a minute stopped or stayed he, But, with mien of lord or lady, perched above my chamber door - Perched upon a bust of Pallas just above my chamber door - Perched, and sat, and nothing more.
Then, this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling By the grave and stem decorum of the countenance it wore, «Though the crest be shorn and shaven, thou», I said, «art sure no craven, Ghastly, grim, and ancient Raven, wandering from the nightly shore. Tell me what thy lordly name is on the night's Plutonian shore!» Quoth the Raven, «Nevermore».
Much I marvelled this ungainly fowl to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaning, little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being Ever yet was blessed with seeing bird above his chamber door - Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door - With such name as «Nevermore».
But the Raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing farther then he uttered, not a feather then he fluttered; Till I scarcely more than muttered, «Other friends have flown before! On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before!» Then the bird said, «Nevermore.»
Startled at the stillness broken by reply so aptly spoken, «Doubtless» said I, «what it utters is its only stock and store; Caught from some unhappy master whom unmerciful Disaster Following fast and followed faster till his songs one burden bore - Till the dirges of his hope that melancholy burden bore Of «Never - nevermore !»
But the Raven still beguiling all my fancy into smiling, Straight I wheeled a cushioned seat in front of bird and bust and door} Then, upon the velvet sinking, I betook myself to linking Fancy unto fancy, thinking what this ominous bird of yore - What this grim, ungainly, ghastly, gaunt, and ominous bird oi yore Meant in croaking «Nevermore».
This I sat engaged in guessing, but no syllable expressing To the fowl, whose fiery eyes now burned into my bosom's core; This and more I sat divining, with my head at ease reclining On the cushion's velvet lining that the lamplight gloated o'cr - But whose velvet violet lining with the lamplight gloating o'er, She shall press, ah, nevermore!
Then, methought, the air grew denser, perfumed from an unseen censer Swung by seraphim whose footfalls tinkled on the tufted floor. «Wretch,» I cried, «thy God hath lent thee - by these angels he hath sent thee Respite - respite and nepenthe from thy memories of Lenore! Quaff, O quaff this kind nepenthe, and forget this lost Lenore!» Quoth the Raven, «Nevermore».
«Prophet!» said I, «thing of evil! - prophet still, if bird or devil! - Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore, Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted - On this home by horror haunted - tell me truly, I implore? Is there - is there balm in Gilead ? - tell me - tell me, I implore I» Qucth the Raven, «Nevermore».
«Prophet!» said I, «thing of evil - prophet still, if bird or devil! - By that heaven that bends above us, by that God we both adore, Tell this soul with sorrow laden, if, within the distant Aidenn, It shall clasp a sainted maiden whom the angels name Lenore - Clasp a rare and radiant maiden whom the angels name Lenore!» Quoth the Raven, «Nevermore».
«Be that word our sign of parting, bird or fiend!» I shrieked upstarting. «Get thee back into the tempest and the Night's Plutonian shore! Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken! Leave my loneliness unbroken! - quit the bust above my door! Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!» Quoth the Raven, «Nevermore».
And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming, And the lamplight o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted - nevermore!

A Cat Wearing a Lime
Socks
(this poem is amazing. once you read it
you will have to read it 16 times)
White, blue, black socks
cuishions for your feet.
Coulds in your shoes,
soft.
Holes, dirty, sweaty socks,
Smell like moldy feet.
Trash in your shoes,
stinky.
Wash them
or they smell.
Stink bombs,
that stick to you.
Take them off,
but feel the wrath,
of the Stinkmeister,
enemy of Mr. Clean.

Always asks,
then everyone

Because it's funny.

Hallucinations
Man in the desert
sees a lake.
Drowning man
is dry;
he's drowning in fire.
Purple ants on the
wall of the hospital.
I'm going to be checked
in here for awhile.
Driving through traffic
on an empty road,
dodging and weaving;
drunk.
Is there any
sense to this world?
Who knows:
maybe we're all
insane
sees a lake.

and the next day she said
when i got to the movies you were gone
but how could that be
i was there for three hours
and she told me that me that she
called and left a message rescheduling
and i felt really bad because i had
just broke up with my girl friend
Her!! translated
when i'm around her
my stomach feels like i'm going up and down

and i start fumbling with my stuff
and stuttering or i'm speechless
and my heart starts beating faster and faster

I’ll sing you a story of a silly young king
Who played with the world at the end of a string,
But he only loved one single thing --
And that was just a peanut-butter sandwich.
His scepter and his royal gowns,
His regal throne and golden crowns
Were brown and sticky from the mounds
And drippings from each peanut-butter sandwich.
His subjects all were silly fools
For he had passed a royal rule
That all that they could learn in school
Was how to make a peanut-butter sandwich.
He would not eat his sovereign steak,
He scorned his soup and kingly cake,
And told his courtly cook to bake
An extra-sticky peanut-butter sandwich.
And then one day he took a bite
And started chewing with delight,
But found his mouth was stuck quite tight
From that last bite of peanut-butter sandwich.
His brother pulled, his sister pried,
The wizard pushed, his mother cried,
“My boy’s committed suicide
From eating his last peanut-butter sandwich!”
The dentist came, and the royal doc.
The royal plumber banged and knocked,
But still those jaws stayed tightly locked.
Oh darn that sticky peanut-butter sandwich!
The carpenter, he tried with pliers,
The telephone man tried with wires,
The firemen, they tried with fire,
But couldn’t melt that peanut-butter sandwich.
With ropes and pulleys, drills and coil,
With steam and lubricating oil --
For twenty years of tears and toil --
They fought that awful peanut-butter sandwich.
Then all his royal subjects came.
They hooked his jaws with grapplin’ chains
And pulled both ways with might and main
Against that stubborn peanut-butter sandwich.
Each man and woman, girl and boy
Put down their ploughs and pots and toys
And pulled until kerack! Oh, joy --
They broke right through that peanut-butter sandwich.
A puff of dust, a screech, a squeak --
The king’s jaw opened with a creak.
And then in voice so faint and weak --
The first words that they heard him speakWere,
“How about a peanut-butter sandwich?”
Who played with the world at the end of a string,
But he only loved one single thing --
And that was just a peanut-butter sandwich.
His scepter and his royal gowns,
His regal throne and golden crowns
Were brown and sticky from the mounds
And drippings from each peanut-butter sandwich.
His subjects all were silly fools
For he had passed a royal rule
That all that they could learn in school
Was how to make a peanut-butter sandwich.
He would not eat his sovereign steak,
He scorned his soup and kingly cake,
And told his courtly cook to bake
An extra-sticky peanut-butter sandwich.

plane tree
Green is the plane tree in the square,
The other trees are brown;
They droop and pine for country air;
The plane tree loves the town
Here from my garret, I mark
The plane tree grow and blow,
Shed her recuperative bark,
And spread her shade below.
Among her branches, in and out,
The city breezes play;
The dun fog wraps her round about;
Above, the smoke covers grey.
Others the country take for choice,
And hold the town in scorn;
But she has listened to the voice
On city breezes borne.
Thank You!!!
Words can't describe her
In everything she does
Nothing can describe
The love she gives
I don't deserve my mother
With all her wonderful traits
All her wonderful love
How?
I can't believe that I
Have such good friends
They seem to always be
By my side
And we never stop laughing
We never stop to cry
I always seem to smile
And laugh 'till it hurts
'Cause friends like them
Are the reasons why
I don't need no heaven
I don't fear hell
'Cause I'm already happy
In where I am
Heaven may be above me
But sometimes I believe
I may have been livin' in heaven
All this time
Thank you to my family
Thank you to my friends
Thank you to all my teachers
Working days on end
Thank you to the strangers
I haven't even met
Thank you to God
Thank you so much
For the life you've given
To me.

Me: The Theif of my Identity by Brad Combs
Me: The thief of my Identity
The thief of my Identity
To my Friends and Family
My true Identity
Is all that makes me
I stole my identity
My personality
What I live for, What I breath for
What I'd fight for, what I'd die for
If not for my soul, I would be lost once again
For my True Identity has fled me
Fled me for another
It is the dancing shadow you play with,
The beauty you can see in yourself,
And the hostility.
It wants to see you suffer, I
t is most content, when you are in despair.
When I can look into my self
and find the real Identity of my inner self,
Until then I will not blame anyone
for my misfortune

Surrender
My hands hold safly to my dreams
Clutching tightly not one has fallen
So many years I've shaped each one
Reflecting my heart showing who I am
Now you're asking me to show
What I'm holding oh so tightly
Can't open my hands can't let go
Does it matter?
Should I show you?
Can't you let me go?
Surrender, surrender you whisper gently
You say I will be free
I know but can't you see
?My dreams are me. My dreams are me
You say you have a plan for me
And that you want the best for my life
Told me the world had yet to see
What you can do with one
That's committed to Your calling
I know of course what I should do
That I can't hold these dreams forever
If I give them now to You
Will You take them away forever?
Or can I dream again?
Clutching tightly not one has fallen
So many years I've shaped each one
Reflecting my heart showing who I am
Now you're asking me to show
What I'm holding oh so tightly
Can't open my hands can't let go
Does it matter?

Grey
Grey's my favorite color
Black and white has never been my thing
I'll take my drink lukewarm now
Hot and cold is not the thing for me
Absolutes are hidden
I've buried my convictions
I cannot be blind no more
Numb to what I'm living for
Help me stop this compromise that justifies these lies
I need Your passion in this life
I don't want to impose
Who really needs to know what I believe
Cause no one likes rockin' boats
And who would care to see the way I see
So give me the fire,
yeah God give me Your fire
And raise this life higher

I had a cat,
grey
soft
fat
given to grrrring
quite softly
and prrrrring.
Slipped off one morning
near the green glen.
That was my cat
who was not seen again.
I had a dog,
noisy and yellow
very cold nose
wonderful fellow.
Trotted one evening
out after a pack
of dog-footed friends
and never came back.
I had a bird,
bright blue in a cage
sang without cease
on his miniature stage.
Sat on my shoulder
looked in my eye
sailed out the window
and into the sky.
I have a lion,
furry and kind
sits on a shelf
near the autos that wind.
Eyes wild and golden
tail like a tuft
he never will slip out and leave
me.
He's stuffed

FOOTBALL
With Apologies to Oliver Twist
Football,glorious football.
Don't care what it looks like
-.Burned! Underdone! Crude!
Don't care what those crooks like.
Just thinking of growing fat.
- Our senses go reeling.
One moment of knowing that
Full-up feeling from sitting on the couch!
Football, glorious football!
What wouldn't we give for
That extra bit more,
that's all that we should live for.
Why should we be fated
to do nothing but brood
on football,
magical football,
wonderful football,
marvelous football,
fabulous football,
beautiful football,
glorious football!

Hug O' War
I will not play at tug o' war.
I'd rather play at hug o' war,
Where everyone hugs
Instead of tugs,
Where everyone giggles
And rolls on the rug,
Where everyone kisses,
And everyone grins,
And everyone cuddles,
And everyone wins.
Rain ~Shel Silverstein
I opened my eyes
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand
I might overflow,
So pardon the wild crazy thing I just said
I'm just not the same since there's rain in my head.
And looked up at the rain,
And it dripped in my head
And flowed into my brain,
And all that I hear as I lie in my bed
Is the slishity-slosh of the rain in my head.
I step very softly,
I walk very slow,
I can't do a handstand

The Type of Girl
I'm the type of girl
Who will laugh at anything
Who will sing every song stuck in her head at random moments
I'm the type of girl
Who believes in anything you say
Who can't trust anyone
I'm the type of girl
Who tries too hard at everything
Who thinks everything's too hard
I'm the type of girl
Who tries to stay strong
Who is fragile inside
I'm the type of girl
Who apologizes to objects when she walks into them
Who cares about everyone in the world
I'm the type of girl
Who worries too much
Who thinks too far into the future and past
I'm the type of girl
Who talks too much about her feelings
Who hides behind her computer monitor
I'm the type of girl
Who is shy and is quiet
Who hides all her courage inside
I'm the type of girl
Who says too much about her hidden past
Who scares everyone away with her honesty
I'm that type of girl
~END~
Ha, that just popped in my head as I typed. Once I started I couldn't stop typing. Then my mom yelled at me since I should be in bed by now. Ugh.

One Inch Tall
If you were only one inch tall, you'd ride a worm to school.
The teardrop of a crying ant would be your swimming pool.
A crumb of cake would be a feast
And last you seven days at least,
A flea would be a frightening beast
If you were one inch tall.
If you were only one inch tall, you'd walk beneath the door,
And it would take about a month to get down to the store.
A bit of fluff would be your bed,
You'd swing upon a spider's thread,
And wear a thimble on your head
If you were one inch tall.
You'd surf across the kitchen sink upon a stick of gum.
You couldn't hug your mama, you'd just have to hug her thumb.
You'd run from people's feet in fright,
To move a pen would take all night,
(This poem took fourteen years to write--
'Cause I'm just one inch tall).
